July came in hot and heavy, with some of the highest temperatures on record here in Canada. And I have cleaned a huge amount of my backyard gardens!! Not so much weeding, but digging out the clay that was sold as topsoil a few years ago. The best part of being able to garden again is working with the flowers that I brought from Mom's garden and thanking her, albeit spiritually, for teaching me everything that she knew about gardening and life and how to be a great Mom. Though at the time we didn't realize it was life lessons, it was just part of life.
And now we are at the halfway mark of August, the weather has changed to tell us Fall is around the corner and I am not done with summer yet. How rude!
Another good "thing" that happened is this summer is that our son, Jacob, got a job about 7 minutes from our home on a garlic farm. We live in the country about 20 minutes from the nearest city. This is his first job, and his employer's are very happy with him. He is very different in employee mode than high school teenager!! Which is very reassuring, to me. I do pray every morning to God, for all of us with teenagers in our lives that we are given extra patience and the right words to help them through what can be very emotional and frustrating times.
So I will end this post and be back another day, hopefully not too far in the future to add some pictures of the crafts I have been doing.
     Prayerful hugs to all,
Germaine

Today, I finally have a card to enter in the Magnolia challenge! I have been trying to get my body and mind to work together enough do this for over 6 months!! This is my birthday card for my niece and Godchild. I love Magnolia almost as much as I love her. There are so many wonderful, wickedly creative artists who inspire us with their fabulous "children"!

I hope you like her as much as I do.

Blessed with tiny miracles

Since my last post, my family has had two baby girls! One was born on her Mom's birthday in March and the other little miracle was born a few weeks early on April 17, but both are healthy and sweet! Their Moms are sharing their joy with all of us in pictures.

Well, today was a great, great day, compared to yesterday when I developed an excruciating muscle spasm in the middle of my shoulder blades that radiated out so far, I almost went to the hospital. I laid down and asked my hubby to get me a cold cloth for my face and proceeded to fall asleep or pass out, either way, when I woke 2 hours later, I could breathe again almost full lung capacity. I was still sore but only a 2 on the OMG scale of pain.
I did not do any crafting today, but I did spend the day with my bff with a wonderful massage from her daughter, after we split a delicious, homemade, real chicken Club House sandwich at The Bears Den restaurant in Deep River, Ontario, Canada (you can google it for a great place to visit) Our Ottawa Valley is home to one of the best rivers for most boating enthusiasts and is loved by white water kayakers from around the world.
Anyway, I'll close for today....prayerful hugs, Germaine

I plan on using some of these wonderful dies on my next creations...see you soon. (I hope)
